Expertise: Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Mitigation Actions
Description of expertise: Beatriz has over seven years' experience in the provision of emissions inventory compilation, projections and monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) to national and international governments. Her areas of specialisation are Agriculture and LULUCF sectors. She is a UNFCCC Expert Reviewer in Agriculture and has participated as co-lead in the Technical analysis of Biennial Update Reports. Through her work Beatriz has gained a detailed understanding of the planning, data collection, calculation methodologies, QA/QC and the reporting of emission inventories applicable to Annex I and Non-Annex I Parties. Beatriz has a broad range of experience in capacity building and training activities. Her recent work includes the delivery of a workshop in Chile on GHG inventories, AFOLU estimates and REDD+ and being an instructor for the GHG Management Institute’s on-line course ‘Accounting for Forest and Other Land Use Projects’. Beatriz provided Agriculture and LULUCF sector technical and capacity-building expertise to the Environment and Climate Regional Accession Network for the estimation and reporting of GHG emissions and similarly to the European Commission’s wiki platform to support Member States in their GHG inventory and Projection compilation and reporting. Beatriz holds a degree in Environmental Science and a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Technologies
